Acclinate, a leading digital health startup specializing in health equity through inclusive research, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Alabama Regional Medical Services (ARMS), a federally qualified health center committed to providing accessible and high-quality healthcare to underserved communities.

‍This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Acclinate as it expands its reach and reinforces its mission to ensure access to research opportunities for people of color. Acclinate's ability to access and engage communities of color through their NOWINCLUDED platform has proven to be instrumental in bridging the gap in healthcare disparities, and this partnership with ARMS will further amplify their impact.

The partnership between Acclinate and ARMS is founded on the shared goal of increasing healthcare access and opportunities for underserved communities. Driven by a mutual commitment to community health and well-being, Acclinate and ARMS will collaborate in identifying research, educational, and funding opportunities that are relevant to inclusive research and aimed at supporting the sustainability of research infrastructure and operations at ARMS.‍

Expressing his excitement for the partnership, Del Smith, Co-Founder and CEO of Acclinate, said, "We are thrilled to collaborate with ARMS and Dr. Greer in this groundbreaking initiative. By establishing a research outlet at ARMS' clinics and leveraging Acclinate's expertise, we aim to create a lasting impact on community health in Alabama. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to health equity and I believe it’s just the beginning of our work with Federally Qualified Health Centers.”‍

Dr. Ted Greer Jr., CEO of ARMS and a renowned expert in clinical trials and community participatory research, recognized the potential of this partnership to bring research opportunities to federally funded health centers. “Acclinate is playing a pivotal role in building out this research extension and supporting our mutual goals. With Acclinate as a partner, we are strengthening our relationships with research organizations, helping our patients receive the best care and opportunities possible.”

“We pride ourselves on offering our patients premier healthcare options, particularly to those who are high-risk. There’s often a misconception that subsidized healthcare is inferior, but it’s not. We provide top-notch quality of care at an accessible level for our patients, and including clinical research opportunities in said offerings will continue to drive our mutual vision of health equity,” explained Dr. Greer. ‍

U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell said the partnership between ARMS and Acclinate serves the objectives of some of her most pressing policy priorities, including expanding overall access to healthcare and reducing disparities in health outcomes. “One of my top priorities is to ensure that my constituents have opportunities to receive innovative, cutting-edge healthcare services and resources. These opportunities often come through clinical trials that offer the most promising new treatments,” Rep. Sewell said. “By making these trials more diverse, we can also have a better understanding of how effective new treatments are for people of color. This is about improving access and ensuring better healthcare for all."

ARMS is part of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), where traditionally under-researched groups can get access to top quality care. Dr. Amy Flowers, Director of Policy Research at the NACHC, said, “Alabama Regional Medical Services (ARMS) is making a commendable effort to bring opportunities to patients who choose to participate in research, and in the process, contributing to more representative and inclusive research.”

This collaboration represents the beginning of a new era for ARMS, with Acclinate being the fundamental partner in this groundbreaking endeavor. By leveraging the collective expertise and resources of both organizations, Acclinate and ARMS are poised to make significant strides in addressing healthcare disparities and advancing health equity in underserved communities.
